China Architectural Engineering awarded a £7.5m contract
China Architectural Engineering (CAE) announced it has been awarded a contract worth $15 million (£7.5 million) to design, construct and install a curtain wall system for Silicon Valley in Guangzhou in China.

The project, which is where the major economic and office centres of the area are located, is expected to be completed by the end of 2009.

Silicon Valley features a wide range of high-tech industrial facilities and projects.

Ken Yi Luo, CAE's chairman and chief executive officer, said that this new contract demonstrates CAE's continued expansion to its "already robust China business" while also demonstrating its advances into new markets abroad.

"We are excited to be associated with a development that houses several technology leaders in China as well as some of its most advanced and striking architecture," he said.

Wang Yang, the leader of the Guangdong province, said that this new Science Town represents Guangzhou's future.

Since the CAE began working in 1992 the firm has completed over 100 developments in emerging regions such as China, Hong Kong, Macau, Australia and South East Asia
